New York Crane, was the welder at fault!

I have to admit writting here on international welder gets rather fustrating at time when, all you get to here about is welding accidents, so at some stage I will try to find anything that is possitve newsworthy in future.
So as most of us have heard about the crane crash in New York, but what has now come to light is that the crane had recently been in for a refit and it appears the part that caused the crash was poorly welded by the New York Crane and Equipment company. Although the investigation is at early stages it will be interesting to see who was at fault and why.
